If I were to do a list of restaurants I would want to rate as the top ten, I would always include The Mango Tree Restaurant in it. This resto has a fabulous and relaxing place and great tasting food at a very affordable price.
The first time I dined at The Mango Tree, I fell in love with the place. It has a very homey setup with a beautifully landscaped garden outside. You can choose to eat inside (cozy seats with air-condition) or opt to dine alfresco with the greenery under a huge mango tree. The place is decorated with some lights trapped in a round lamp and are beautifully arranged around the mango tree. (Like fireflies surrounding a sturdy tree at night)
The Garden at The Mango Tree
We had dinner the first time we ate there. They only have limited selections of food but it quite helped us since we had a few range to try. We fixed on having an order of its Seafood Paella. Paella is a Valenciana rice added with some vegetables and meat (Paella in Mango Tree is Valenciana rice flavored with some tomato paste to create a sweet and sour taste and some cooked seafood chunks thus the name Seafood Paella). We were not aware that what we ordered was good for 3-4 people and since there were only two of us, we had some leftovers for takeout. (The waiter only told us that we could order half of the Paella, which is good for two people – (see photo above), after we have billed out. Say what?! But on the bright side, at least now we know)
Seafood Paella at The Mango Tree Restaurant
It was definitely a tasty dinner. Every spoonful of the sweet and sour rice melts lusciously in the mouth. To top it all, it has some cooked seafood bits like four whole shrimps, some grilled squid tails and chunks of fish fillet mixed in the flavored rice. You can really have a complete mouth watering meal in a paella.
We also had some mixed tofu and pork that night and Chicken Bulgogi too. We ended our meal with a yummy dessert – Mango Crepes. (This dessert is really great but I’ll tell you about it in the next post
)
The Verdict:
The Mango Tree Restaurant
I would definitely give The Mango Tree Restaurant a thumbs-up. If you want a romantic dinner under a mango tree or just find a perfect place to get away from the hurly burly of the city, then The Mango Tree Restaurant is the perfect place for you.
