Daily Buns Café and Bakery – from the heard of it, it is like a dream come true for every bread lover, buns serve daily. (Nothing new, but I simply love breads!
) Still, it stays true to its name; buns (breads) are indeed serve daily.
After having a family-time at SM City Iloilo one Sunday afternoon, we decided to grab a snack at the newest branch of Daily Buns Café and Bakery, near the Iloilo Boulevard. Actually, we already had planned to try this fairly subtle bakeshop in their first branch at General Luna Street (located between Bluejay Coffee and Deli and Union Bank) but we never had the chance.
At first, we thought it would be just like any other bakeshop but we surely find it appealing especially to moms and dads as they provide a special nook where kids can gather, do coloring and drawing activities and be less a bother to their parents. (Not that kids are trouble, but you know what I mean!
) The somewhat big art station is specially designed to beguile kids to come-and-have-fun-here-while-your-mom-and-dad-dine-in-peace. They have stacks of coloring pages, complete with coloring materials on a crayon-themed table.
Enough with the special kid’s zone, Daily Buns also offers a lovely and cozy ambiance with limited comfy sofas and a beautifully designed interior. I was actually attracted to the charming effect of the yellow and brown theme. (It sets a pleasant mood) Also, there are quite a few ornaments arranged on wall panels that created a more homey impression.
Moving to its food selections, there is a wide assortment of tasty breads to choose from. First we tried the Garlic Parmesan (php16.00) where it reminded me of eating pizza. It was really good when served hot and the garlic flavor mingles well with the parmesan taste. Then, we had the Mango bun (php28.00) which was sweet and soft with a few bits of mango inside.
The Muffin Strawberry (php25.00) was our daughter Nise‘s personal choice. (Probably enticed by the pink color) Well, she did have a good taste! The muffin was very soft with real taste of strawberry syrup. Lastly, we had the Porky Thread (php32.00), soft bread with lots of pork threads on top. It, in fact, tasted much better than other porky floss we ate before (I’m still keeping my options open for the famous Bread Talk Floss).
In general, the entire dining experience at Daily Buns is mostly cherished. We had a good time eating good bread in a welcoming ambiance with a hot brewed coffee and Nise had fun coloring peacefully in her own station. (She even kept talking about the place a few days after we dined at Daily Buns
