Ilonggos are known to be practical people. Generally, they would rather ride a jeepney than get a cab. They prefer to save most of their money rather than spending it all to luxury. They choose to dine in less expensive but good eating places rather than eat in fine restaurants most of the time.
To suit their palate, Green Mango Restaurant offers a wide range of delectable Filipino foods, reasonably priced to fit the Iloilo market but still maintaining a quality and deluxe taste in their every food offer. Green Mango has been chosen by Unilever Food Solutions as part of their Sooo Pinoy’s featured restaurants in Iloilo City.
Green Mango showcased two of the most reasonably priced meal in their extensive menu. First is the Lechon Kawali, a typical Filipino dish best paired with rice and your regular sawsawan (soy sauce and vinegar with calamansi).
Lechon Kawali at Green Mango Restaurant
Lechon Kawali is deep fried pork belly usually cooked in large chunks to retain the moisture and softness of the pork while achieving a crisp and crunchy texture on its skin. It had already been a staple food offer in most restaurants and normally, these are offered in large servings or three to four.
Green Mango’s Lechon Kawali is available in per single serving at a good price of Php79.00. Paired with a cup of steamed rice, you can have good meal of three regular slices of lechon kawali with their own version of kawali dressing.
Pepper Crusted Sibingan at Green Mango
The Pepper Crusted Sibingan is another pride of Green Mango as it offers opulence amidst affordability. Sibingan is a Filipino term for Blue Marlin, a sea water fish with extended body of blue and silvery white and a spear-like snout.
Green Mango’s Pepper Crusted Sibingan offers a delectable taste of what it means to become luxurious while not robbing your pocket of its entirety. The sweet and sour balsamic dressing with melted cheese and crushed Pili Nuts suggests an exciting new flavor that will make you want to eat more. For a price of Php125 per 100 grams, you can enjoy a plate of the Pepper Crusted Sibingan with carrot, julienned leeks and green mango slaw on the side.
