Shall We Eat – A Korean Restaurant in Iloilo

Shall We Eat Restaurant is one undiscovered Korean Restaurant in Iloilo City that offers good Korean grubs at affordable prices.

Korean trending is now very evident in the Philippines thanks to our friendly visitors from the Korean Peninsula in the North East Asia. And that does not discount the fact that even Filipinos enjoy the Korean cuisine much like their locals do.

We found a Korean Restaurant named Shall We Eat at the Atrium foodcourt as we stroll around within the vicinity for some comforting food. Of course, we had been enticed by their unique food offers compared to the regular Filipino and fastfood chow we see in the place. So, why not have a taste of Korean cooking if we have the opportunity right in front of our eyes? What convinced us the more is the affordable price they had.

Kimchi Bokkumbab at Shall We Eat - A Korean Restaurant in Iloilo Kimchi Bokkumbab with egg

The Korean Bulgogi is rice paired with ground beef mixed in different chunks of vegetables. It has a satisfactory taste although we would prefer to have more flavoring on it. What we loved the most is the Kimchi Bokkumbab. It is rice mixed with Kimchi and topped with a sunny side up egg – very tasty and spicy. You can feel the excitement in your mouth as you indulge in a spicy and sour taste of Kimchi.

Not having enough Kimchi? You can also order good for one or more with their separate set of kimchi. Good for one would probably cost you around 20 pesos.

Bibbimbab at Shall We Eat - A Korean Restaurant in Iloilo A vegetarian plate of Bibbimbab

If you want more veggies in your plate, try the Bibbimbab. Different slices of vegetables encircle the rice with sunny side up egg on top. You can fine slices of carrots, radishes, onions, cabbages and mushrooms.

Kimbap at Shall We Eat - A Korean Restaurant in Iloilo Kimbap – Korean-style Sushi

Sushi has always been a huge favorite of ours. Since we saw their good plate of sushi rolls, we didn’t think twice in ordering a set. The Kimbap (Korean version of Sushi) is one set of 14 sushi rolls that is typically your delicious sushi ingredients, lots of veggies and well cooked rice. You can easily satisfy your sushi craving with this delectable set of Kimbap.

Having been filled up with our Korean chow at Atrium foodcourt, we learned that they do have their own restaurant at Lapaz, fronting the Lapaz market just beside The Grand Dame Hotel. It is a tiny nook, somewhat like a carinderia. Several chairs and tables are set inside the small place but it’s cozy enough to make you enjoy a Korean feast.

wow! thanks for posting this, finally a korean restaurant on the foodie’s choice. i’m familiar with this resto since i’m a korean food fan, although this isn’t one of my fave korean restaurant in the city it still can help with a quick fix of korean dish especially the atrium food court branch. also if you’re a kimchi addict like me the la paz branch sells home made kimchi for 150 pesos per kilo which is way much better than the ones sold at supermarkets.

The Atrium branch really is a great recourse when you crave for something Korean. We usually buy Kimchi at this branch, cause like you, I’m also a Kimchi-addict. hehehe… What are the other Korean restaurants here in Iloilo? I think we badly need a more decent
      one
(in terms of resto interiors/exteriors) with more expansive Korean food choice on the menu. :)

So far the best one in my opinion is Kim’s Bob in Robinson’s Paseo Iloilo near Moon Cafe, it’s my fave since it has more to offer in the menu, better tasting food compared to others so far, albeit pricey it is still worth it. The only thing I don’t like about this resto is that there’s a minimum of 2 orders with the solo samgyeupsal (which is my fave) which a single serving is usually enough for two persons (it comes with a lot of side dishes) but it’s just me i guess. Also I think this is the only Korean restaurant in the city that have an area for traditional Korean dining (sitting on the floor and eating on a low table) in addition to the normal tables and chairs setting. Lastly, it has a well stocked Korean mini grocery inside.

Other ones are Hui Zhen on the 2nd floor of Red Square in Smallville, it’s Chinese-Korean so it has a very limited Korean menu but they do serve generously, check out their jjampong.

Seoul Ya or Seoulia this one is in the 2nd floor of Annes building in La Paz near St. Clements Church. Very small and doesn’t have a lot to offer in the menu as well. I just visited it once.

MT in Jalandoni St. near Corner Stone, this one is fairly new, it doesn’t even have a name when we first visited it. This restaurant is simple and small, it has 5 tables and a limited menu but I visit it regularly since they offer the cheapest samgyeupsal in the city. The owner is really nice and you might find me drinking soju with him or with friends or alone late in the night and after midnight since they are open until 3 am ;)

The rest I have to still check out, there’s one Korean restaurant inside Ledesco Village and another one in Gen. Luna St. called Kook (not sure).

Cool! You surely are a Korean food buff hehehe… I only knew a handful of them in the city actually. So much to add on our list now… Will definitely try each one real soon. :D

Kim’s bab restaurant near Robinson and Gangbyen restaurant in Time square, General luna are Real Korean Taste Restaurant. I tried to visit MT Korean restaurant in Jalandoni St. but Taste was terrible and price was very expensive. Avoid MT Korean restaurant in Jalandoni St.
