Peppy Thai Deli: A casual Thai dining in Iloilo

email

After trying out two well-known Thai restaurants, we cannot stop raving about the delicious offer of Thai cuisine, most especially the famous Phad Thai. The flavor of each Thai dish is similar to Filipino cooking but with its own distinct blend. Alas, it will leave our pockets empty if we regularly eat in a decent Thai resto.

Luckily, we’ve learned of a medium sized Thai restaurant in front of Jaro big market here in Iloilo that is offering affordable Thai dishes daily. Peppy Thai Deli is a casual dining eatery, much like of a self-service restaurant set up with the cooked Thai dish selection displayed in a counter. They occupied an old wooden house for the restaurant.

We decided to have lunch at Peppy Thai once and since we were already told that their closing time is based on when all the food in their display are consumed, we rushed to get to the restaurant hoping to have more food selection. But then, we arrived at almost 2pm so we only got three dishes left to choose from. :(

We ordered two sticks of pork barbeque and an order of their saucy meat dish, somewhat similar to “Karne Prita”. We were actually expecting a regular serving of their every dish. Surprisingly, we were served with a very small sized bowl of their meat dish that is somehow good enough for one (or even not sufficient for a single person if you are really hungry.)

The taste was actually good and much like any fine Thai bistro. However, of course, nothing exceptional compared to other famous Thai restaurants. In fact, they do only have a SLIGHT difference when it comes to their food prices.

Overall, it was a satisfactory lunch at Peppy Thai.

If you want to have a taste of good Thai cuisine at a more casual setting, try dining at Peppy Thai. But, come a bit earlier to have a wider selection of their dishes to choose from, and don’t forget it must be a LUNCH.

Hey Junn, namit gid man fudz sa Peppy’s. Sometimes, I don’t care about ambiance (which at times influences one’s dining experience)kon ang fudz namit. Yup, you’re right, size of servings are surprisingly generous, if not skimpy. Overall, i have good experience at Peppy’s (+++++ foods, ambiance +).
