Pendy’s Napoleones: A Treat from Bacolod

email

Bacolod is known for its delectable desserts and part of it is a great delicacy known as Napoleones. It is a square pastry puff with sweet dense cream inside and topped with hard icing.

As part of our itinerary in Bacolod, we made sure that we could stop by Pendy’s bakeshop, a well-known pastry shop in Bacolod that features yummy Napoleones. Actually, we do not have the slightest idea on what the restaurant looks like but upon arriving, it looks like your common medium sized bakeshop from the outside perspective. Yet, we were wrong when we got inside.

It was a really nice and cozy shop with a great aesthetic design and elegant chairs and tables, good for dining in. In one corner is where all the delicacies are found. You can really fill your eyes with all those delectable pastries and native treats. Of course, there is the famous Napoleones priced at 13 pesos per piece. You can have the option to buy a single piece or a box-full for takeout.  Each box contains ten pieces of Napoleones.

We bought a box for takeout since we were in a rush to catch our afternoon trip back to Iloilo. (I only had the chance to have my fill of Napoleones when we got home.)

Generally, the taste of Napoleones was really good. It was sweet and creamy, making your mouth water in every nibble. The puff was indeed soft and the cream makes it even tastier.

If you go to Bacolod, try some Pendy’s Napoleones and you will definitely keep coming back for more.

      Hi Michelle,

We would love to help you but unfortunately, we do not have any idea how to make the napoleones crust, for now.

But, hope you can find the exact procedure in making napoleones. :)

hi aileen, if you liked pendy’s napoleones, i bet you would love the original makers of it..Roli’s..it’s an old time fave in bacolod. theirs i guess tastes really, really good.:D you can buy it in their branch in lopue’s mandalagan, they also have a small stall in carmel arcade near university of st. la salle and i think their products are also sold in Bong-Bong’s pasalubong center.

Hmmm. sounds interesting. We’ll surely drop by Roli’s on our next trip to Bacolod, probably next month. Thanks for the recommendation. :)
