It was a tiring day, since we arrived at Cebu that same day. Fortunately, we were able to squeeze ourselves in a famous Mexican Resto there, the Mooon Café at the Ayala Terraces. Since it was our first time to try a somewhat authentic Mexican, we decided to order those suggested by a Cebuano friend who frequents Mooon Café himself.
Mooon Cafe’s Chicken Mozarella
I was captured with the Chicken Mozzarella in the Menu. Wow! Sounds like pizza. As a pizza fanatic myself, I settled on Chicken Mozzarella with a cup of rice of course. (We are Starving!) It has four breaded chicken strips topped with melted mozzarella cheese and place on top of a fresh tomato mixture, much like a salsa. Every bite tastes like a pizza, fried chicken and salsa mixed into one great combination. It has the perfect blend of herbal taste of tomatoes and the cheesy sweet and sour flavor of mozzarella cheese. (I am getting hungry now.) Junnjun ordered the house famous Mooon Steak. It is placed on a hot sizzling plate oozing with mouthwatering smell of grilled steak with sweet gravy. Its tender meat mixed well with the creaminess of the gravy. It is perfect alone or with steamed jasmine rice.
To further explore our taste buds, we ordered the Sopa con Papas, which is of course potato soup. It is a buttery smooth potato soup with no potato bits, just plain soup. Yet, it can satisfy your craving for a hot fill in the stomach. We had the Sun Coolers to quench our thirst after a hearty dinner. Overall, what we ate that night was satisfying. The price is worth it, although it is not your regular low priced resto.
Can’t wait to see Mooon Café here in Iloilo City!
