After more than an hour of early morning trip to Bacolod, we were so hungry that we want to eat a full meal breakfast at that moment. We decided to walk along the streets of Bacolod instead of catching a ride from BREDCO port. We eventually reached the famous Manokan Country of the city with arrays of grilled native chicken restos, open even for a full breakfast.
The place was a huge wooden cottage divided into small rows occupied by more than ten small restaurants, all having a specialty of Chicken Inasal. Since it was only around 8:30 in the morning, there were no customers yet for most of the restaurants. (But, I bet it looked jammed packed at night)
We found a nice, clean place among the identical choices but unfortunately, it was swarmed with few flies on the floor. Since they specializes on Chicken Inasal and it is one of the must eat food in Bacolod, so we settled with it. I don’t exactly know if they cook our chicken upon order or whatever, but it took quite a long time for them to deliver our orders. (We only had two Chicken Inasal and two cups plain rice).

Bacolod Chicken Inasal
The Chicken Inasal looked so tasty. (Or, I just miss eating native chicken inasal for a long time) It appeared so succulent and grilled just right. The Paa Chicken Inasal I ordered was juicy upon first taste (Paa chicken inasal is made of a chicken thigh and legs). It really tastes like a delicious grilled native chicken straight from the grill. You can feel the simplicity of its seasoning and in every chew, you can taste real chicken.
Junnjun ordered Pecho Chicken Inasal (Chicken breast and wings). Unfortunately, for him, it was not cooked well. You can really see the white chicken flesh, undercooked and it has no taste at all (Seems it was not marinated or something). In the end, he was only able to finish half of it.
Although the half-cooked chicken weakened our overall encounter at Manokan Country, generally, it was a great experience of something authentic and simple as a Chicken Inasal.
