Iloilo City hosts to numerous restaurants specializing in BBQ or Inasal but only few of them proved the best. Floyd’s Famous B-B-Q is one of the few that truly captured every Ilonggo’s craving for this staple Filipino food. It started as a simple foodcourt tenant at the Atrium Mall and now it occupies a bigger space of its own still right beside the foodcourt.
Floyd’s got an edge among the competition as it took the customer experience to a different level by providing a fastfood environment. It is far different from the other well-known restos here which have traditional wooden structures. I myself am a BIG fan of Floyd’s! I usually tend to eat there regularly, not just because I love the food but also the location is very accessible to me and the prices are affordable.
Now here’s a rundown of Floyd’s famous foods, truly more than just B-B-Q!
Floyd’s Famous B-B-Q
This is the most affordable among the meals at Floyd’s. You can have a 1-piece pork barbeque with Java rice and a complimentary flavorful hot soup at only P37 (and this is what I usually order J).
Floyd’s Chicken Barbecue
Floyd’s Chicken Barbecue has succulent chicken meat grilled like an American style barbecue.
Floyd’s Fried Pork Chop
This is one of the most “sulit” among the meals they have. At P69, the pork chop is already big enough that it almost covers the whole plate leaving little space for the Java rice. It came with “atchara” garnish and a sauce to complement with its crispiness.
Floyd’s Grilled Pork Belly
Floyd’s Grilled Pork Belly is perfect for those who are looking for a real “sinugba nga baboy”. This is best with the usual soy sauce and vinegar combination with calamansi.
Floyd’s Crispy Pata
When I say more than just BBQ, I mean it. Here is another Filipino favorite, the Crispy Pata. I must say that Floyd’s has one of the best Crispy Pata in town. I just can’t get enough of it and honestly I’m craving for it while writing this. I think this dish is one of the most recommendable items in their menu.
Floyd’s Sizzling Spicy Squid
The sizzling squid is very tasty and spicy. You can feel the hot spices in it that blends well with the squid cuts and other spices in the sizzling plate.
Floyd’s Hot Bibingka
Floyds offers desserts too! Perfect for snacking or for mainly dessert, Floyd’s Hot Bibingka is served in two slices per order. It is made of sticky rice topped with sweet melted brown sugar sprinkled with a sugary sauce.
Floyd’s Macapuno Pandan Crema
Floyd’s Macapuno Pandan Crema is another good choice from their dessert menu (Actually right now they only have 3 items for desserts, I forgot the other one).
