Buffalo Wings, Mango Crepe and Seafood Paella at The Mango Tree

email

Second time at The Mango Tree Restaurant and I was contented. We had a good lunch right after attending church on a Sunday. The place was empty except for a family almost done billing out. We then had the place to ourselves.

Junnjun was taking pictures all over place and our cute Nise was trying to catch up and pose on every picture. (They were a good tandem since Junnjun was doing his job like a pro and Nise was posing like a pro child model for a kids clothing line hehe)

Of course we decided on their Special Seafood Paella (Tomato flavored Valenciana rice mixed with seafood bits) as we were longing for it, an order of Buffalo Wings and some cold drinks. The Paella was very tasty as ever. Now, we only ordered half of it to refrain from takeouts. (Remember the first time where we ordered full Paella and have half of it as take out)

The Buffalo wings was not as expected though. We were expecting a grilled-dry sauce on fried or grilled chicken wings. Yet, their Buffalo wings were quite saucy. (Like spreading on some hot tomato sauce before delivering the order to our table)

We had some cold drinks to wash away our thirst on that hot day. I had some Green Mango Shake, Junnjun fixed on the Frozen Mango Iced Tea and we ordered Nise an Oreo Milkshake to stop her from pestering us while eating.

The Green Mango shake had that sour kick on every sip. It was certainly delicious. Junnjun was not at all satisfied with his drink since the mango they put on the frozen iced tea was the ripe one. (He was expecting the same taste of the Green Mango Iced Tea he once tasted.) The Oreo Milkshake taste like cookies and cream flavored ice cream. (Nise loved it. Well, any child would do!)

Again, we ended our meal with Mango Crepe for dessert. It has four pieces of rolled crepes, with ripe mango and banana strip inside each crepe, and drizzled with honey and chocolate syrup. In the middle are two small scoops of ice cream. (Nise had all the ice cream and we ate the four crepes)

It was very scrumptious since every bite of the crepe blends a bit of sweet mango, a banana flavor, the almost bland taste of the crepe and the sweet tang of chocolate and honey syrup in your mouth.

The Verdict:

Overall, we can truly say it was a full lunch. Food was great, the place is cozy and the price is within our budget. Rating is above average.
